Venatura — An Italian noun identifying the veining system of woods, marble, leaves, and materials. For trees, it relates to the network of concentric circles that bridges roots and leaves together.

Often translated as “trace,” or “undertone,” it also refers to a subtle underlying quality or tone within something (writing, colour, emotion).
